Interior Designer

Ford Motor Company is looking for a highly creative and strategic Senior Interior Designer for our design studios in Dearborn, Michigan. Working on Advanced & Production Interior projects, the successful candidate will have to develop both conceptual and production based on Interior solutions in the form of sketch, rendering and 3D digital models.

What you’ll do:

  • Create compelling and innovative interior design experiences and visions for Design Projects.
  • Explore the Human Centered Design experience with emphasis in Interior Design holistic experience.
  • Coordinate the work of other design personnel to achieve holistic design visions.
  • Create future-brand-focused design visions.
  • Span digital and physical (software and hardware) thinking.
  • Problem-solve around topics of connectivity, mobility, and consumer segments.

What you’ll have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or similar field of study or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 1+ years’ Automotive or Transportation Design experience; including experience with final design product execution.
  • 1+ years of experience translating 2D to 3D and think three-dimensionally with a strong emphasis on proportions and a refined sense of form also required.
  • The ability to think creatively, strategically, and analytically.
  • A design portfolio (PDF) must be provided upon application.

Modeling Manager

This position is responsible for the development and delivery of physical Design Studio Models. You will get to lead a team of professionals in the development and build of armatures, design intent models, and various other physical models in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead studio coordination efforts including work balancing, staffing and other resources.
  • Lead the development of digital and physical model builds.
  • Lead the determination of best tools and techniques to deliver accurate Design executions.
  • Lead the delivery of GPDS deliverables to program timing and Studio constraints.
  • Interface with all levels and functions of the Design team.
  • Lead the delivery of high-quality physical models for management reviews.
  • Develop methods to deliver high quality digital and physical models with speed and accuracy.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

You’ll have:

  • Strong knowledge of model building materials, equipment, and techniques
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to motivate the team to respond to a demanding schedule
